GOLDEN MINUTE CARE FOR NEONATAL RESUSCITATION CARE
It is among the most important and first actions in providing effective newborn care. A newborn’s first cry makes the mother happy and the father and mother’s families happy as well. A newborn’s smooth transition from the mother’s womb to her lap depends critically on the pediatrician’s first golden minute of care. If a newborn does not cry during the first minute of life, the baby’s brain will be permanently damaged, and the family will be held liable.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Neonatals in need of intensive and specialized care are cared for at the NICU. Intensive care nurses and specialists work as a committed team to provide 24-hour monitoring. The neonatal intensive care unit is outfitted with CPAP, monitors, phototherapy units, ventilators, radiant heat warmers, incubators, and laminar flow units. It provides Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC), a preterm care model that has become popular among moms of low-birthweight infants. Pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, cardiologists, ophthalmologists, physiotherapists, audiologists, and plastic surgeons are among the numerous specialties it provides.
